Atlanticus CAL info

Hi there all you beautiful people in crochet land.

I am so very excited to be sharing Atlanticus crochet CAL with you. This blanket has been such an amazing journey and I can’t wait for all of you to take your first steps on your own adventure.

So here is everything you will need to know: The CAL will begin on Monday, 22 May and will run for a total of 14 weeks. One part will be released each week, other than part 10 and 11 which will run over 2 weeks each.

The CAL will be released via my blog and you can join everyone else in the fun and get lots of support by joining my Hooked on Sunshine Pattern and CAL group and also CAL Facebook group who will be co-hosting.

It will remain free forever and always. My Atlanticus has been worked in fabulously yummy Nurturing Fibres, Eco Cotton. This is a South African, double knit, cotton yarn.

The pattern will contain two colourways which will be listed round for round.
If you’re not to keen on my colours, you can customise your own colourway.  My Atlanticus is worked in 8 colours and I have used approximately 1600grams/4000metres.

The Sunshine Owl Blanket

I was browsing through Pinterest when I saw the Owl Pot Trivet from Zelna Olivier of Zooty Owl. I thought it would make a super cute blanket and the Sunshine Owl was born. Zelna has very kindly allowed me to use her design as the inspiration for this afghan.

This afghan is a splash of vibrant colours because I love rainbow blankets – you can’t look at them and not feel happy. As I worked through the blanket, I chose a number of different stitches to add variety and simply because they were cool stitches to use….hope you enjoy making this blanket as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.

The Sunshine Mandala Blanket

I wrote this pattern as an alternative to the Sunshine Owl. While I was running the CAL on Facebook, I designed The Sunshine Mandala Bag as a bonus pattern for those who had joined the CAL. The centre of the bag and Sunshine blanket pattern made a really pretty combination and so the Sunshine Mandala Blanket…….
You can either end your blanket at 120x120cm or 155x155cm, I will be including two different borders for the two respective sizes.
